Carl Pollock - 2006 Inaugural Inductee

Carl PollockCarl Pollock (1903-1978) is a fitting inaugural inductee to the Waterloo Region Entrepreneur Hall of Fame.

One of Waterloo Region's first successful technology entrepreneurs, Pollock was a prominent local business leader who led Electrohome Limited for many years.

The Kitchener native graduated from the University of Toronto in electrical engineering and went on to study at Oxford University, England. He taught at the University of Toronto for a short time but his father's illness led him back home to Electrohome Ltd., the firm his father founded in 1907.

Pollock also helped found the University of Waterloo in 1957, CKCO in 1953, and the Stratford Festival of Canada.
